Ice Fishing Near Minneapolis
Heated ice houses on Lake Minnetonka, gear included.
Ice fishing near Minneapolis, without buying any fishing gear. Our heated ice houses are on Lake Minnetonka, and you check in at our marina in Mound, about 20 miles west of downtown Minneapolis on the west side of the Twin Cities metro.
Each house is set up before you get there, with the holes drilled, the heat on, and rods, a tackle box and bait waiting inside. Come out for the day or stay the night. You book online, and your card isn't charged when you book.

Why Lake Minnetonka
Lake Minnetonka is a large lake right here in the Twin Cities metro, so you get a big Minnesota lake to fish without heading out of town.
Our houses are set up for crappie, walleye and northern pike. Whether you're hoping for a few panfish or a walleye worth a picture, the holes are drilled and the bait is in the house.
We've been in business since 2009. You meet us at our marina in Mound, and we take you out to a house that's ready to fish.
New to ice fishing? You don't need gear
If you've never been ice fishing, this is an easy way to try it. No auger, no portable shelter, no rods to buy. Every house comes with:
- Fishing holes, already drilled
- Fishing rods
- Bait: fatheads, crappie minnows and wax worms
- A tackle box
- Heat
When you check in, our staff lead you out to your house, show you around and go over everything you need to know before you start.
Kids are welcome, and so are pets, for a $30 pet fee. Bring snacks, drinks and garbage bags, plus bedding if you're staying the night.

Pick a day trip or an overnight
Houses rent by the slot on weekends, and there are day slots and overnight slots. A day slot is a relaxed way to try ice fishing for the first time or get the kids out on the lake. With an overnight, the house is yours from one day into the next, evening and all.
Thinking about staying over? Our overnight fish house rentals page lists the overnight slot times and what to pack.
The season runs January 1 to March 31 (some houses open a little later).
Our fleet
Every house comes with the same fishing gear, so pick by the size of your group: ours sleep 3 to 8. The price under each house is its lowest open slot right now, before 7% Minnesota sales tax.
