Who we are

What we collect when you book

• Your name, email, phone, party size and any notes.
• The house, dates and slots you choose.

Payment cards are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep only the card brand, last four digits and expiry, to identify the card on file.

What we collect automatically

• How you found us: if you arrived from an ad, a link with campaign tags or another website, we save the campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), the referring site's name (not the full address) and the first page you landed on, in a cookie that lasts 90 days. We attach them to a booking so we know which marketing works.
• Your IP address, briefly, to limit abuse (too many attempts).
• Analytics: if enabled, Google Analytics measures visits and bookings with cookies and browser storage. We remove private booking tokens from the page addresses we send it.
• Advertising: if enabled, the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel runs on our public pages, but not on the booking, card or reservation pages, to measure our ads: it records the pages and houses you view and taps on our phone number. When you start or complete a booking, our server also tells Meta about it (that you started or completed a booking, and its value), with your email, phone, name and customer number in hashed form, plus your IP address, browser information and Meta's cookie IDs, so Meta can match it to an ad. While this is enabled, your browser information and Meta's cookie IDs (not your IP address) are briefly saved with a pending booking, until it's confirmed or expires, so a booking confirmed after you leave the page can still be reported. We never send Meta your booking links or reservation code.

Cookies we use

• A checkout cookie that remembers your in-progress booking for 15 minutes.
• The "how you found us" cookie (90 days).
• A sign-in cookie for staff only.
• Stripe's cookies on the card step, for fraud prevention.
• Google Analytics cookies, if enabled.
• Meta's advertising cookies, _fbp and _fbc (90 days), if the Meta pixel is enabled. _fbc records the Meta ad you clicked to reach us.

How we use your information

• To hold and confirm your booking.
• To send your confirmation, reminder and cancellation emails (and text messages, if we turn texting on), and, after your stay, a request to review it.
• To contact you about your reservation.
• To charge your card on file only as described in our cancellation policy.
• To understand which marketing brings guests.
• To keep the site secure.

We don't sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

These service providers process information for us:

• Stripe (payments)
• Resend (email delivery)
• Vercel (website hosting)
• Neon (database hosting)
• Google (analytics, if enabled)
• Meta (ad measurement, if enabled)
• Twilio (text messages, if we turn texting on)

We also share information when required by law.

How long we keep it

Booking records are kept as business records, for taxes and accounting. Marketing cookies expire after 90 days. You can ask us to delete your information where we're not required to keep it.

Your choices

Email metrolakesicehouses@gmail.com to see, correct or delete your information. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site still works, though analytics and the "how you found us" cookie won't.

Children

The site isn't directed to children under 13, and bookings must be made by an adult.
